The Artisans Textile Festival is one of Bendigo’s best-kept event secrets. It is an annual presentation that showcases a range of textile artists and their diverse range of hand-crafted creations.

This year’s crafts include weaving, knitting, crochet, socks created on an antique sock knitting machine, spinners’ cotton, raw fleece, hand-painted silk garments and basket-making. Handmade garments, plenty of original crochet and knitting patterns and kits are for sale. They are sure to inspire your own creativity.

The festival is in its ninth year and draws people from Victoria and interstate. Demonstrations of knitting, crochet, basket-making and weaving will give budding crafters the confidence to explore a new passion.

The Artisans Textile Festival is located in a warm, inviting venue with areas to sit, eat and relax. Lovely home-cooked food including soup, wraps, sandwiches, freshly baked scones, cakes, slices, tea, coffee are available from the kitchen.

Easy hall access, toilets, lots of parking and $2 entry add to the appeal.

So, whether you enjoy your own textile passions or appreciate the quality of handmade designs, the Artisans Textile Festival has something for everyone.

The Artisans Textile Festival is from July 15-17 at the North Bendigo Bowls Club 42-54 Fenton Street, Bendigo North.

Open on Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-2pm. Free parking and $2 entry.
